Gregory Ouanhon

Gregory is President of Fundamental Films, a leading film distributor, producer and financer, headquartered and listed in Shanghai, China. He joined the company in 2012 to launch and structure its international activities ranging from acquisitions to development, production and equity financing.

In 2015, he relocated to Los Angeles to strengthen Fundamental’s development and production efforts. In 2016, he led and negotiated the company’s subscription to the €60M capital increase of EuropaCorp, setting Fundamental Films as the second largest shareholder of the Company. He seats on the board of Europacorp since then.

Gregory also structured Fundamental’s $50M Equity investment in Valerian and the city of a Thousand planets, oversaw the production of Enter the Warrior’s gate, a major Chinese coproduction, produced the first US feature of the Company and executive produced 10 films to date.

He also acquired 150+ films for distribution in China with box-office hits such as The Little Prince, Lucy, Taken 3, American Hustle and others.

Prior to Fundamental, and anticipating the boom of the Chinese market, he founded Dark Light Media in 2008, a pioneer in film acquisition and distribution in China. The company acquired and released numerous films over there.

Gregory began his career in 2006 at FORTIS bank (now BNP PARIBAS FORTIS) in Paris, specializing in film and television financing in Europe and France most specifically. He is graduated with a Master of Science in Management from KEDGE Business school, Bordeaux, one of the Top 10 French business School.
