Claire Scanlon started her career editing documentaries for PBS and the Discovery Channel. That didn’t last because The Office called and she won her first Emmy for editing. Then they gave her the chance to direct. Other comedies called: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Mindy Project, Modern Family, Fresh Off the Boat, The Last Man on Earth, Black-ish, The Goldbergs, Suburgatory, Speechless, and The Good Place. Then Netflix called about GLOW and her first feature film — Set it Up which is about two overworked and underpaid assistants who work for people who treat them like dirt. Most recently Claire directed the “choose your own adventure” TV movie finale for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and The Mapleworth Murders for Quibi.
